Laptop freezes when not in use

I have an Asus G73JW laptop. Great machine, no issues when I am using it.

However, when left alone, the laptop will occasionally freeze, requiring a hard reboot, or sometimes it crashes and reboots on its own.

Any ideas what is going on?

    It is an intel i7-740/8gb/nv460M/win7hpsp1

    Thanks.

Have seen other laptops do this with Win 7 and sleep mode, disable that and see how it does. Run on a hard surface to avoid heat issues to rule that out as well.

I have disabled all the power saving features, just run a screen saver.

And I do run on a hard surface. I don't stress the laptop much, so it rarely gets warm.

Freezes/reboots are usually just at idle, however, I just had a rare freeze tonight while using the laptop (browsing).
