Re: The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 thread

saw an ad for MW3 last night on TV. It looked so sad and terrible compared to BF3. Who were the guys complaining about BF3 graphics in the beta? They should watch a MW3 ad and come back.. suddenly BF3 looks AMAZING

I'll probably get it for the Michael Bay action movie plot single player. Can't say I've had any interest in COD multiplayer in a long time.

Over the weekend, a truck carrying a video game shipment in France, which was worth around 400,000 Euros, was robbed. The shipment reportedly contained 6,000 copies of "Modern Warfare 3."

Looks like there will be 6000 cheap versions on EBAY destined to get banned on activation

Not sure how Microsoft would ban accounts on this. Stephen Tolouse has said that Xbox Live can tell the difference between a pirated game that's being played early and a game that was accidentally sold early by a retailer (and ergo, not the gamer's fault). I dunno if they can ban these 6,000 games or even if they would have a way to track them. I mean the SKU numbers are probably in a database somewhere but don't know if Microsoft has a way to connect the dots.

Well, is anyone here picking this one up? As for me, I can't. I still have to get an SSD, followed by either BF3 or Skyrim, whichever one looks better to me atm.

I could poop out a game that ran on a newer engine and showed more dev effort than this thing.

After watching some play though on youtube there isn't enough there to convince me to spend the $40+ for it.

Oh and no ranked dedicated servers...

It's a console game and that's where it should stay.

So, Infinity Ward lied after MW2 when they said they would bring back dedicated servers in the future? Well, IW was all fired after the last game, so maybe there was nobody left to remember that they promised that.

Yeah, they followed the same formula as the Twilight books/Transformer movies/Saw movies:

    1 - Take something popular.
2 - Change as little as possible.
3 - Release every two years.
    4 - Profit!

Unfortunately, MW3 will probably sell 999999999999999999999999999999 copies and we'll see another MW4 in 2013.

And it will be exactly the same.
If all the COD sheeple bought Black Ops (and that game is a bigger pile of sh!t that MW2) then I expect to see sales for MW3 close to 30mil. BTW MW2 is a good game and MW3 will be too (because its they are both the same.)
Black Ops however is a huge pile of steaming sh!t, only (insert insult here) would not be able to see that and would buy/play that crap for the PC.
