vote for sound card

my old blegears is getting long in the tooth , PCI is about dead , looking at a PCIE 1x card
2 options I am considering
a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD

or
a HT OMEGA eClaro 7.1

need a good card for games and music , for speakers I have a Klipsch 2.1 THX speakers so either card should power these nice speakers real nice
I do cringe at creative , nice looking hardware but I still wonder about the drivers.

I hate Creative stuff, have an Asus Xonar that I really like, especially for music. And it was $30.

People are constantly complaining about their drivers and various issues.
I have a Claro but PCI
Grabbed the drivers from their web site.
Clean install.
Zero issues driving this:
HT|Omega Claro / Klipsch Pro Media v4.1
Esoteric Sounds Rek-O-Kut Professional Phono Preamp MKII
Technics SL-1210 MKll w/ Stanton 681EEE MKlll
Games and especially music are very nice.

If you are still running XP I have a Terratec DMX 6fire 24/96 I would let go at a reasonable price.
The only reason I'm not using it is that there aren't Win7 drivers.

Claro. Great sound, never a problem with drivers.

I'm not a big time gamer though. Use it mostly for music. But have never had a problem with it with games.

for 129 bucks I am going to give it a shot as I just can't justify 185 dollors for the HT Omega . I probaly regreat it but this is the most impressive looking hardware I have ever seen Creative put out we will see...

ugg , installed the card , drivers and no sound shows up in device manager but not in control panel under sound devices , going to try a reformat

yea I found the issue , creative dropped support for windows xp , would have been nice if I had known that but what gets my goat is that the install cd gave no clue of this it installed drivers anyway .

yea but blew my cash on the XFI , I am done ..maybe I just go onboard sound or go back to the bluegears till I get the rest of my stuff when I upgrade to windows 7

thanks but I decided to just sell the card , besides I am under the impression that was for another model , not the Titianium HD.
