Who is the best sound card maker? Any Audiophiles around here? I have a Soundblaster Audigy SE that i got for like $15 lol. I'm happy cause it destroys onboard audio. Though I was looking into a Asus Xonar.

my old blegears is getting long in the tooth , PCI is about dead , looking at a PCIE 1x card
2 options I am considering
a Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD

or
a HT OMEGA eClaro 7.1

need a good card for games and music , for speakers I have a Klipsch 2.1 THX speakers so either card should power these nice speakers real nice
I do cringe at creative , nice looking hardware but I still wonder about the drivers.

And your right , rave reviews , replaceable opamps , and PCIE interface .
I just send back The creative card and when I get that money back I am pushing the button on this card, hopefully by Friday.

i might take a bite on the omega stricker 7.1 for $89....it would probably do me...that is the most popular omega card. though it does look like quality cost, and that is $150 plus for top end cards...you get what you pay for.

i had been a turtle beach fan, but it looks like they are allmost out of the desktop sound card buisness....its a shame, but sound card business is a tough one.

Auzentech , I had one of the forte cards , basicly just a rebaged XFI with better components . Still used creatives drivers so that was a issue .
Me I am done with anything even remotly related to creative .
HT Omega is king of the Hill IMO

Be advised that the Striker is 16 bit 48 KHz
It is barely a step above onboard sound.
You will not find that spec listed anywhere.
I had one and sent it back and got a Claro.

hmmm,, did not know that. okay, maybe will look at a better card then..i have onboard sound on all my rigs, and want to listen to music now and then. will keep ya informed.
