Its kind of marginal. for now I'd say stick with 1 for now and wait until they get cheaper down the road, then add. a single 560Ti is a very solid performer at 16x10 so you should already be able to run at high settings with a bunch of eye-candy on.

Also, don't forget that these benches were run at 19x12, which is 40% more pixels than 16x10. Like I said before, IMO you don't need to buy another 560Ti right now when the prices are still high.. wait for some rebates and sales to kick in when the old 460's dry up and then make the move

When the 295's first came out I ran a pair of them in quad mode. Other than bragging rights I did not gain much in game play.

Once you go over 60FPS in a game there is not much point in spending more money.

By the time your current card will not play the games properly it will be time for a new card anyway. And I expect that to be a couple of years away.

    This ^

I am still rocking my 8800GTS/SLI. I got one of these cards free as a loaner when my gtx275 went up in smoke, and the other I paid $40 for way back when and was on the shelf as a spare. If I drop vsync in game, Im usually over 80fps, and in many mmo over 150+fps.

As a side note, I can grill a cheese sammich in 5 mins between these things, and my computer pays for its self in winter as a room heater....

At that resolution, I'd forget it. As the link provided by richardd43 points out, you'll be likely getting around 100fps with that single 560Ti at your resolution, so it really doesn't make that much of a difference in a real-world gaming environment (at least in FarCry2) to add a second card. You may get more beneficial results in some other games (that you actually play?) though.

My experience with multiple cards was not very good. I still think your better off with a single monster card. Unless your already maxed out with like a 6990 and cant go faster unless your crossfire or sli. In any case thats a niche market, very few people can afford two 6990s.

I've been concerned about minimum frame rate recently on dem more games. Don't really want it going under like about 30FPS.

    Re: SLI worth It ?

I've been running two to four NVIDIA GPUs in SLi since my 6800GT Sli set many years ago.

I don't remember many "problems" with it except when Quad and Vista launched, it's been pretty seamless.

However, the situations where SLi is useful at 16X10 are pretty limited- higher AA, Metro, and Crysis about sums it up.

I see SLi as "worth it" for the following situations:

    1. To achieve a level of performance not possible on single GPUs.
    2. To extend the life of a card when it's cheaper than buying new high end. (E.G. a second 560 when they're down around $100 might be better price/performance for upgrade than the new high end card for the OP)

    Re: SLI worth It ?

First time I went SLI was this setup I put together last Oct for gaming among other stuff.

the setup from one card to two is very noticeable and if match nice with gaming in mind
    Added 6GB DDR3 Hyper X@1880+
    Intel i7 950 Quad core 3,070GHz@3,324GHz
PC power and cooling 950 watt SLI ready(need a real good brand and strong +12 with alot of plug ins )
I have no trouble with any game running at a very high level and Res with great fps

The cards have that extra thump to run faster when needed at times in a game off line game or a room full of fps its there and ready this is great game play like in FPS COD online full 18 players .
Higher fps in better settings and res.
    Smoother overall game play.
Detail and image looks better to me.

no troubles after I changed out cheap 850 sli ready for pc power and cooling 950 sli ready with strong +12
    22K 3dmark 06 was out at time.

    a must for physicx games

Running MAFIA2 , COD BLACK OPS , Batman game of the year , now Nukem which I dare say is easy to run.Anyone with Mafia2 will tell you how much better SLI is over 1 card
Well worth getting for great game play

Crysis 2 and packs really need it at full hd kinda resolution. I suppose it's useful when BF3 arrives. Depending on how fast they get the SLI working on it.

hi longtime no type lol 3dfxrain
I finally went SLI only because at one time 1 card was 499-650 (6800GTX $640 I paid)
Now I can dig 2 for price of 1 these day.
last OCT I paid only 269+tax each for EVGA 470 SUPER OC 655/1310/1710

I feel all test are right on money but looking to get more out .Trying to get ram fsb higher like 140-150 without dropping speed from lower to 1600 DDR3
