I'm putting you on notice Sick Willie.. There might be a new number 1 producer on this team in the next couple weeks

WOW pretty big words![]()
well my new toy is on the way, but its not going to show up until mid week next week, so I'll just spill the beans now. I'm adding a i7-970 dedicated rig to the farm. It should overclock ok in the UD3R board and the current owner says he was getting approx 100k PPD on a 6903 unit. So it'll be getting the full ubuntu treatment I gave my SR-2 and a shiney new -bigbeta flagI figure my new theoretical max ppd will be somewhere in the 350-380k region with 6903/4 units, but only 250k or so on 6900's, hence why I expect to be trading blows with Willie instead of outright maintaining a lead
the price was also VERY nice... funny how that worked, a price too good to pass followed by a 970 mysteriously being shipped to me![]()
Must be nice to have money to burn![]()
And, then, I might delve into some more esoteric endeavors. Or not. Right now, the average temperature in Lubbock has been hovering at or above 100 degrees for over a month and my electric bill is enormous. But, I really don't like numbers (as a place) other than 1.
We'll see if the temperature breaks and I can generate some interest. Did I ever mention that not all my machines are online and folding....In fact, I've decreased folders dramatically while maintaining (or increasing) PPD. Haven't even done any real optimization of current resources.
Nice stats, btw. And if you are ahead for a little while, enjoy it.

LOL. I have actually strongly considered shutting my entire farm off until it's cooler, but I do like seeing my name at the top of the list.
Between the temperature and the less than 3/4" rain for all of 2011, it is friggin' unbearable this year.
But, I do have deep pockets and more silicon, so we'll see.Becoming #1 and staying #1 for an extended period of time are not synonymous. Just sayin'.

Sorry to throw a "spanner in the works" guy's,
I love a good race, I really do....
But this is disturbing for Bigadv folders:

In my opinion the reaction to the latest "Big Bigadv" Wu's which were released from closed beta way too early, and well before any real thought was given to the possible impact on Bigadv as a whole,
The usual "forum trolls and whiners" came out of the woodwork to make matters worse......
I've been giving them both barrel's over their inept and clumsy "knee jerk reaction" there all day, it won't make any difference now, but hopefully they'll be a little more careful with such changes in the future,
Maybe a little mute now,
but nice production there lately guys...![]()

the 6903/4 units really brought it to a head. my SR-2 went from 150k on 6900's to 250k on 6903's. basically, the new units are going to come out to levels they should have been before the re-alignment, at the cost of points for all the other projects. IMO they should have just adjusted the new units and left the old ones alone, OR implemented a QRB on the GPU clients before touching the bigadv bonus. I understand that people were upset about the fact that GPU's had been basically marginalized by bigadv, and I understand stanford wanting to keep the masses involved by not cheapening the contributions of people who can't do the heavy-hitting rigs like mine. That said, I think theres a lot of confusion and a big lack of communication as to how this data is being used. If bigadv really is that much more important to them, they should have left it alone and given a healthy boost to GPU's to make others feel better.
