Can you use ram from a triple ram system (3 sticks) on a dual ram system (2 sticks). A friend just upgraded to 6GB from 3GB and I can get the ram for free.

Yep, there is no difference in the ram. They sell it in triple or double channel packs to make it easier, and of course for marketing, to make you "think" it is better!
