I've only ever used streaming, Removed the 1 DVD off the account as soon as they allowed it, so I'm basically unaffected by the change.
I can understand being upset about the increase, but then complaining about having to pay a mortgage and feed your kids is a little over the top.
If you are seriously having a dilemma over whether you should buy cheerios and make that mortgage payment in full, a price increase on netflix IS NOT your biggest problem.
Anyone using their last 10 bucks to pay for something as frivolous as netflix really needs to get their finances and priorities in order.
This has nothing to do with how many children you have, how big your mortgage payment is, or whether you have student loans, it's about personal responsibility and budgeting yourself. All of those choices were conscious decisions, even kids! I don't see how someone has MORE right to complain about money because they decided to start a family.

Yep, this puts a little damper on the movie party. We have had the service for 1 year now, and I have received 90 DVD's and have streamed well over 400 movies/tv shows, so will probably lose the DVD option and keep streaming for a bit. Can go back to getting movies from the public library on DVD.
So they raised their prices 60% in a time of economic uncertainty, and their stock is now down 40% since then. I wonder if those same idiot shareholders that were cheering at the price increase are cheering now?![]()

More good news for Netflix. The Post Office now wants to put a stop to overnight delivery of first class mail. This would really increase the wait time between dvd's through Netflix.
Delivering First Class mail in two to three days instead of one to three days could save about $3 billion by 2015, the agency said. The change would allow it to close facilities, cut back on overnight work and eliminate about 35,000 jobs.

I did. I finished watching Stargate SG-1 and decided to cancel on principle alone. I'm sure I'll end up joining it again in the future sometime, unless there's a better alternative by then. If I do, it'll just be for IS though.
