    Post Your Hi-Def Video Collections.

Mine is rather small as I started it about a year ago. And I have decided to take a different approach towards building my BR collection. Instead of re purchasing hundreds of movies, I've decided to only buy the best movies on Blu Ray and leave the mediocre ones on DVD. It really makes sense considering there will likely be a new medium for video storage in several or so years.
The only exception I would make to allow a mediocre movie in my BR collection is if it is part of a series of other excellent movies.
    • Back to the future Trilogy
    • Terminator Trilogy
    • V for Vendetta
    • Predator (1987)
    • Silence of the Lambs
    • Inception
    • Shutter Island
    • Ghostbusters
    • And Justice For All
    • The Matrix
    • The Alien Anthology
    • The Ten Commandments (1972)
    • The Omen (1976)
    • Batman The Dark Knight
    • The Shawshank Redemption
    • Halloween (1978)
    • X-Men First Class
    • The Big Lebowski
    • John Adams (mini series)
    • The Neverending Story (1984)
    • Inception
    • X-Men
    • Goodfellas
    • The Scent of a Woman
Soon to be purchased as soon as I've collected enough Amazon gift cards.
    • The Star Trek TOS Movie Box Set
    • The Star Trek TNG Movie Box Set
    • Star Trek 2009
    • Blade Runner
    • Amadeus

    Hmmm, let's see.

    • Watchmen

Have a bunch of PS3 games (which are on BD of course), but just one movie.

Have to admit, I've gone digital. I do most of my movie watching through Amazon Instant Video.

I will probably pick up the Star Wars collection on BD. And probably wouldn't mind having a few others as well.

    Purple? I'd call it red?!

Anyway, you and ODog were smart to buy all those HD-DVDs when they were cheap (we talked about this on TeamSpeak). I should of done that.

mix the red and blu together and what do you get?

yea, actually the matrix trilogy and planet earth are HD-DVD (so a little white lie in my previous post). i knew exactly what I was doing when i snatched up a whole bunch of hd-dvd's. i had 2 BD/HDDVD combo 5.25" drives and knew that I could always rip them if necessary and they were dirt cheap. for ex: planet earth was 15$ on HDDVD or 60$ on BD. no brainer at the time

Why did HD DVD lose to Blu Ray anyways?

Btw for those of you I see that enjoyed "Band of Brothers" and "The Pacific", check out "Generation Kill" only this time instead of europe or the pacific its iraq. And it is fascinating. Now Im starting to understand what a Marine classmate of mine was talking about when he said "shit goes on in Iraq that you cant even be told about or want to know about"

    Sony.

That, and having a considerably larger capacity which is good for when 1080p stereoscopic 3D becomes the standard.

    Heres an even better question.

Remember thoese virtual reality helmet type glasses thing from the 90s?

Where are those now? I can imagine with the PC power we have today, what that VR would be like. You could even plug it in through USB or to a port on your video card.
