EA just yanked Dragon Age 2 from Steam like a week ago.

I think all EA games are going to start slowly disappearing from Steam.

It's funny because EA keeps blaming it on Valve ("Steam's terms of service for publishers are SO restrictive we can't sell our games there!"), yet all other publishers, including Activision, Ubisoft, 2K, whoever, all can sell their games on Steam and everywhere else. EA seems to be the only one who as issues with Steam's terms.

Also the terms of service didnt seem to be too restrictive before the Origin push.

    Re: Battlefield 3

Rumor alert: I read a user comment which states that someone was told by EA support that BF3 will be available on Steam on release day but not before. I guess that means no pre-order on Steam and no Back to Karkand Expansion Pack or any of the other pre-order bonuses.

If true it would be really annoying that people wanting to buy BF3 from their favorite digital distributor would be made to suffer like that. I wish EA and Valve would just get their act together and give their customers what they actually want.

    Re: Battlefield 3

I've used EA downloaders before (once for BF2142) and it doesn't seem to be up and running to play the game.

I really hope the same will be true for Origin. If I buy a boxed version, I don't need any other download service running in the background.

I wonder if this has been confirmed?

I regards to Steam - my network was down on Sunday and it wouldn't let me go into off-line mode. Guess you need to know when your network goes down ahead of time. Gah!

Where's everyone pre-ordering their game from?
The Amazon dog tag pack seems interesting. I hope the Phys pack just gives you early unlocks...

    Q9300 with 4 GB DDR2 1066 RAM
UltraSharp 2408WFP (needs to be RMA'ed) on GeForce GTX 285 on two 18 amp 12V lines
    Audigy X-Fi Fatal1ty w/ Logitech Z-5500 & Sennheiser HD 280 Pro and HD 595
plus the usual stuff in a poorly designed Antec P180 PW case

Origin may have begun as just the EA downloader but you can bet it's will look more and more like Steam as time goes on.

Yeah, right before the unveiled the Origin name at Steam, they did a major update and fixed the client. It's a lot better than it was even a year ago.

It still has some issues though. But not impossible to use.

Origin seems fine as a downloader and updater. The point is that I want my choice ... and I choose Steam.
