the only issue ive ever had with it is in win xp. with the beta you cant use it with more than 512 mb of ram or you get no sound ..weird.
but im sure that will be fixed in good time !
I'm pretty sure the live! is better for gaming, the SC is better for music, they are even in dvd's. Check out www.3dsoundsurge.com for more, and also check their forums, that's where I found this out.
I have both the Sound Blaster Gamers-X and the Turtle Beach Santa Cruz. The SC was a replacement for the SB who mysteriously decided it didnt want to play nice with the rest of my system after over a year of flawless service, (A7V, 900mhz TB, Plextor 12-10-32 CDRW, Kenwood 52x CDRom). Music is better with the SC, and gaming is nicer with the SB-- but the SB kept disabling my CDRW/CDR drivers from the system, so it is in the dunce corner until I can figure out why its such a deliquent.
Anyone use NewQ DSP's with pci128, live, 5.1, etc? According to their site, www.newq.com , they claim to make good 4.1 channel audio.
The Acoustic Edge is by far better (imho) than any Live card or The Hercules card. The breakout box on the Herc card is a gimmick at best. A sound card should actually sound good, in music and in games, and the Acoustic Edge does that and then some.

Hi BR-SC
Re your problem with the SB Live and the CDR/RW drivers being disabled, exactly what sort of problems did this give?
My reason for asking is that I use an SB Live 1024 and any attempt to use "Digital Audio extraction" with my Plex 16/10/40A causes the sound to skip and then system lockup.
Anything similar with you?
Regards, Big G.
