To buy Ati 4890 yes or no?

My buddy has a friend who is willing to sell him a
HIS H489F1GP Radeon HD 4890 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card
for $60. It is OC to 850mhz and he only had the card for about 9 months, selling it because he got a new card. Do you guys think it is a good deal to get that card or should I just tell him to hold off on it?

ps - looking at the pics he showed me it appears to be in decent condition.

    ~thanks

Not that it is too expensive, but I guess the bigger question is, what are you currently using, what do you want to do, what games are you trying to play, do you plan on saving up for better?

He is a causal gamer like he plays Portal 2, Left 4 Dead 2, and some other games. He thought it was a good deal and what wonder if he should get it. Since his old card is a HD 2600 it would be a step up and possible start playing newer games since he has the capability to. I don't think he is planning on saving up for anything better until he needs to.

So as a causal gamer he is, should he get it even though he has to buy a new psu too?

It was a decent card in its day. For casual gaming use and those types of games he plays it will do the job just fine.

    That card will demolish lfd2.

For 60 dollars id probably get it. Though it wouldnt suit my needs. It seems it will suit his just fine.

Make sure his psu is up to it though.
