    Talking Coolermaster Hyper 212 EVO

Just removed stock i5 2500k heatsink. Temps would exceed 85c running prime 95 and some games. With the Coolermaster, temps don't exceed 50c so far. It's nice to buy something and have it work as advertised for a change.

I have the Hyper 212 Plus on my PhenomII 980 at stock clock. Idles at 36-38 and after 2 hrs of Prime it's right at 50. That's with fan speed control, 1400RPM below 47' and max speed above. I can turn the speed down a notch with no increase in heat but it's no quieter.

You just can't argue with a cooler this good for $30.

I've been using their cases, fans and power supplies for a while now. I guess I can add heatsinks to the list too.

I especially like the ability to move the fan on the heatsink to clear ram heatsinks.

Has anyone compared pusher vs puller on the fan? Or tried double fans?

Also note that the cooler can be oriented either way on the CPU and the clamping arms rotated. So the cooler can be facing east-west or north-south.

Pusher is generally better especially when the leading edge of the fan blades are too close to the cooler (appx 1/2" needed for clean airflow) on puller arrangement.
