Another RAM Question

I am rebuilding a desktop with extra parts. I have these sticks of DDR2 Ram

Corsair CM2X2048 6400C5 1.90V ver3.1 timing 5-5-5-18 (2 sticks)

Muskin 991523 1.9-2.1V XP2-6400 timings 4-4-3-10

Can I mix these sticks - i.e., put the two Corsairs in the primary slots and then two of the Muskin in the other two for a total of 6GB?

I believe you can, though everything will default to the lowest common denominator in terms of speed. If you have the sticks on hand, then theres really no harm in trying. Mixing stick sizes and speeds used to always be a bad idea, but memory controllers have gotten so much better than you've got a decent chance of it working

yea, 4GB of ram is good enough for most things anyway. I guess your mem controller just doesn't like the size mismatch. I know my laptop runs a 4GB and a 2GB DIMM together though
