Ubuntu users need to switch their Java now before they lose functionality:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/LucidLynx/Re...ava6Transition
Since Oracle is not renewing its licenses for its Sun Java JDK packages, distributors that have been using them are now required to stop. This means any installation that has this installed will no longer be supported with security updates, leaving the system vulnerable to attacks. To prevent this, Ubuntu will be removing them from users system as they perform normal updates.
To prevent functionality loss, it is best for users to switch to OpenJDK and IcedTea before these updates come into affect.
