    Anyone using parallel port printer?

When I use modern computer (no parallel port) and no- name-brand usb/parallel port converter it works one time then not the second. (tried with 2 converters). I use Windows XP as administrator. Do I need a driver for parallel/USB converter? (brother hl630 laser printer) Does anyone use this converter successfully? Which brand do you use? Is there some driver setup involved? EDIT: maybe it could be my bios. I sometimes change my parallel port/irq settings.

Maybe try a parallel port card like these? I would think that would be as close to the port being built into the motherboard as you could get.

Why not just look into getting an new Laser Printer that has a USB port on it?
That machine is mighty old. You can get new one under $50.
