Thumbs up Game of the Year 2011

Cast your vote. Remember that you get just one vote and are voting for your favorite game of all of 2011 all things considered.

There are only 10 slots in a poll so I had choose carefully. I started with the winners of the monthly polls, added a few of the popular runner-ups and went from there.

Click HERE for a list of past Game of the Month winners.

Any game you played in 2011 is eligible regardless of release date.

If you vote "OTHER" please post which game you are voting for so we can track it here in the first post.

The poll will remain open for a week.

Re: Game of the Year 2011

    Voting other.

I spent most of my time this summer playing MLB 11 The Show on PS3.

Quite possibly the most fun I have had with a baseball game since the High Heat days.

I just wish I could have a game like that on the PC. Buying a 3DFX Voodoo card just to play 3D0's High Heat was really how I got into PC gaming. That led me to getting an AMD Athlon 700 which led me to this site looking for advice on my AMD motherboard!

Ok, I'm done with the stroll down memory lane.

I vote for MLB '11 The Show. Well played Mauer.

Well, 9 1/2 months of BC2 gameplay pretty much points me to.... BC2. Only reason I'm not playing it now is everyone else playing BF3.

Lenny! Black Ops came out in 2010. I think you meant MW3. As for Mass Effect 2, that also came out in 2010, except the PS3 port came out this year. Dragon Age 2 came out in 2011. I think you meant that since they're both BioWare RPGs.

As I said in my own top 10 list, Skyrim for me, though there are some really good games. Got to give an honorable mention to The Witcher 2, which is my best looking game of the year.

Re: Game of the Year 2011

Wow. This is really tough. Borderlands was probably the sleeper hit of 2011 especially for the money (very little). BC2 wins for total time (100's of hours) and I really feel like I hit my stride in BC2 in 2011. Skyrim probably wins the happiness/hour ratio battle and just overall plot and story. BF3 was incredibly anticipated and came on really really strong in the time-comittment category. That said, it almost takes over on default from BC2... I love the graphics, but as an MP game it just lacks that extra something that really blows me away like SP games can. Portal 2 was good, but doesn't really cut the mustard. BLOPS is completely out even though it was a solid chunk of time. I'm going to have to debate this one for a bit

Because it had things Skyrim and other games didn't, graphics and gameplay were superior, multiplayer was superior and slightly expanded with single player, it was worth it. I have no doubt this was it, game of the year regardless of what anyone else thinks.

I'm almost embarrassed to say that even though I bought BF3 a month ago, I've never even loaded it up yet. Yes, Skyrim has taken all that extra time away from me.

Haven't even played Skyrim yet. From what i've noticed about it, wasn't as great, it lacked too much for me in comparison before I even played it.
