this is my setup: http://valid.canardpc.com/show_oc.php?id=2236306

it's a gateway motherboard so no overclocking. there are 4 DIMM slots. the cpu is an old school one. from what i've gathered, newer intel CPUs can take more advantage of DDR3 memory(because of integrated memory controller) and as a result, single vs. dual channel matters less. but what about on this older architecture? does dual channel matter more here?

i've noticed better performance with dual channel(2 instead of 4 2gb sticks) but it could just be me. any way to test this?
