    Z77 PCI-E 3.0 slots, baffled?

I noticed that motherboard manufacturers of Z77 boards are putting 2 PCI-E 3.0 slots on their boards, but it is not what it seems. You can only use one slot at x16 bandwidth, if you put in 2 cards in SLI/CrossfireX you only get (x8,x8).

My question is would a z68 mobo with PCI-E 2.0 thats able to do SLI (x16,x16) better than a Z77 w/ PCI-E 3.0 (x8,x8) in SLI? or is it the same?
    From ASRock site:
    "2 x PCI Express 3.0 x16 slots (PCIE1/PCIE3: single at x16 (PCIE1) / x8 (PCIE3) or dual at x8/x8 mode)"

I am building a new rig and have a GTX680, and I just need to buy a CPU/Mobo to complete the build. Thanks

Since cards these days cant saturate a full 16x on PCI-E 2.0 let alone 3.0 I wouldnt worry about it. I think I actually run my 480s at 8x/8x. There was an article awhile back someone found for me when I had the same question that proved there was no difference.
