    Vcore voltage of Amd

    Hi...

I don't know if its the correct part of the forum or not...
And i don't have a lot of knowledge of it..

    But, i have a problem.
My processor is amd athlon 64 x2 5800

Well my question is what should be average Vcore voltage for it.

I am using Pc probe 2 to show voltage of the vcore.
It shows the average should be around 23 volts... but mine shows 1.39 volts and shows a warning.

So what should be the Vcore voltage for amd athlon 64 x2 5800??

Can we get some more information please ?

Could you enter your system information into the space for that in your User CP then enable viewing of it? Or could you make a detailed signature listing all of your parts? This will help others answer this and future questions, and you only need to do it once. As an example of the level of detail we need, you can click on my system dropdown or look at some of the other signatures you see here. Thanks.

With that being said, due to that processor being "unlocked" the voltage is variable.

So i have no problem with my Vcore temperature being 1.39V

Cause the software pcprobe ii use to check the voltage shows me warning and tells the voltage should be between 22-23 V.

    So is the software incorrect?

Ya, i will put them in my User CP..

    The Asus software is junk...

    Try Speedfan

    or

    Realtemp

    Or

    Coretemp

Are you having problems?, like random crash and or BSOD and or rebooting? and that's why your concern with cpu volts, trying to find the problem?
Kind of need more info about your system, is this a factory built system or did someone local to you build the system or did you build it? like if it is overclocked..., motherboard, cpu cooler,

All them temps look high, maybe you don't have AC? and or not enough case fans to move air in and out of your case. I'm guessing the screenshot is of your system not undering load, if that so, then your cpu temp will be a lot higher under load, plus the other temp will be higher with the added heat.
What's the highest temperature the room gets that your system is in? That MB temp on some boards is the case air temp and your is at 41C ( about 106F ).

A vcore of 1.38 is normal for that CPU. 23v is obviously an error. 57C is high but not damaging high. I'm guessing you are using a stock cooler? If you so you might want to at least remove the cooler, clean the cooler and CPU with rubbing alcohol and reapply a good heatsink compound like Artic Silver 5. Or get a better cooler. That would drop your temps significantly if you are still using a stock cooler. It might be a little difficult to find one for socket 939 since that's an old socket but I'm not sure. I haven't looked in quite a while.

    Re: Vcore voltage of Amd

I see it is at idle with the screenshot, CPU usage on core 0 is 0% and core1 3.1%.

If MB is case temp 41C and Idle CPU temp 57C, thats a delta T of 16C, so loaded delta T will be around 39C to give you about 80C at full load before the case temp starts to climb more.

So guessing by the delta T at idle, its a after market heatsink fan, AMD coolers has a delta more like 20C to 25C delta T at idle.

But this is nothing but me guessing, not knowing room temp and which reading is case temp

if its a Brisbane, I could not find max safe temp for the amd athlon 64 x2 5800. edit: I see in the chart mmettin posted a 70C on your CPU, but cant see top of chart to see if that is max safe temp.

bootmeup, that's a good point about the CPU being at idle. In that case 57C is too high.

that 57 doesn't necessarily have to be the cpu temp. could be the nb sensor. the cpu/heatsink would be very warm to touch and blowing a lot of hot air.

would be nice to know what model board it is.

Ya, i am using a extra fan now.. without it i used to get reboots specially in the afternoon here the temperature stays around 40C or more..

No i don't use a AC. When its hot, i open a side and put a extra table fan on the side and cools down the temperature really fast.

It was build by someone local.

Some more info of my system

Hi envenger, I kind of guess you was having a problems with the questions and info you gave.

I would check your CPU heatsink and fan and see if it has any dust you can maybe clean out of it to help keep the temp a little lower. I take mine off when i notice temps start getting higher, I turn off system and unplug it and remove the heatsink fan cooler. Then take the fan off the cooler and clean the dust off the fan blades and wash the heat sink to get all the dust out of it. Then let it air dry or sometimes dry it with a hair dryer, then reinstall the fan to it. Also if you have another fan that is the same size, but maybe turn more rpm, install that fan onto the heatsink. Clean off the top of the CPU and put new thermal grease ( thermal compound, thermal paste, whatever you want to call it) on the CPU and I spread it very thin to cover the surface that will touch the heatsink. The better thermal compounds cost more that have better thermal conductivity to transfer the heat faster to your heatsink and best to get the better stuff, but if money is low then the cheap stuff is better then none.

Was going to say you could get a better heatsink fan, but with the idle delta T you have, which is good, any better CPU cooler will be the high end stuff that cost a lot and only give a little better delta T.

Also disable ASUS Q-Fan control in the bios, so the fan runs at max speed, in the power menu I think.

Plus leave that side cover off and keep that table fan on high , I had to do that before when my AC broke.

Save up for a CORSAIR H100 for a easy to install water cooling system, with the high room temp, your going to have to run it on high.
