Newegg has the Sandisk 120Gb SATA III on sale of $119.99 but my Asus m4a79xtd-evo is a SATA II board. Will it work?

SATA III SSD on a SATA II MB?

Does your board support AHCI correctly?
It'll work in theory, but older boards can sometimes have issues with SSD that aren't really related to the SATA II/III support. You may find an even better value in one of the SATA-II SSDs.

SATA is reverse compatible. It'll work, but at the slower data transfer rate of SATAII.
