I’m sorry to hear that. I can only imagine how you feel. Truth be told, if I put myself in your position I would be kicking myself but the Wife would be none too pleased with me either.
I’m not sure how you can correct this problem.
I’m still using my old HP EX490 MediaSmart Windows Home Server (v1 / PP3) but I also run a backup server LX195 at a remote location (for additional backup security). Sometimes I upload photos and other files to it. Other times I just put files on a HDD and sneaker-net it over to the remote site / server.
I have at least one Windows Home Server 2011 license so I was thinking of replacing the old HP EX490 MediaSmart server but was a bit concerned I might lose some data in the process. I also don’t like losing the drive extender pooling functionality and don’t want to have to resort to Drive Bender or FlexRAID to regain that functionality.
