Really? You are the boss/employee rolled into one. The employee half will think that the boss half is the biggest a-- he ever worked for.

    What could go wrong?

Good luck and I can understand. And really..if I remember correctly..and you stay in the same field...the change shouldnt be a shock to your system cause if I recall you worked pretty much at home anyway. You know..not like your gonna miss the water cooler crowd. I also believe folks used to working from home are already pretty disciplined anyway so the change will be easier. Your lawyer and accountant will get into all the fine points...and visit that taxprof blog everyday! The toughest thing self employed folks face is resisting the temptation to live on money that should go to taxes and other "official" junk. LOL and never take checks from builders. I work for one part time and he still plays the "take a check " game with me and I still tell him to send his mother checks...she trusts you....gimme the cash you freaking crook.

Accountant is the next visit. One of the necessary evils of the world, IMO.

I mean really, why do I need an accountant? To get around all the stupid mistakes an ignoramous like me would make. My stuff will be very simple, but I'm going to take advantage of every loophole or accounting strategy I can.

To thewanderer, yep, I know. But in this case I can guarantee you the new boss ain't the same as the old boss. I can corner the new boss

LOL, the "new boss" is the same as the "old boss". You *are* still married, right?

Seriously trout, best of luck to you in your venture. Something tells me you'll be just fine.

Economic conditions are going to get far far worse. The only thing holding prices somewhat steady in this country, as odd as it seems. Is the slow collapse of the euro.

Bankia, Spain's 4th largest savings bank is in trouble and will likely be nationalised shortly.

I love how their headquarters building in Madrid looks rather like a collapsing bank.

    Clever that.

Yeah, GM. A company that was itself bailed out recently. What a mess.
