Could be good. Craig is probably the best Bond since Connery IMHO. I'd like to forget everyone since Roger Moore who was meh. I liked Craig since I saw him in Layer Cake. Worth a watch if you have not seen it.

Looks good. Quantum of Solace felt pretty flat after the solid Casino Royale, so I'm hoping they do a better job this time. I'm looking forward to it.

Quantum suffered from Michael Bay A.D.D. style of camera work, can't film any action scene in one spot for more than a second , puke inducing spinning camera bullshyte cut scenes jumping around like a kangaroo with it's ass on fire, felt like I needed some Dramamine after watching it. But I still liked it story-wise, how it finished up where Casino Royale left off. I like Daniel Craig as Bond, and the hardcore style that's been injected into the films with him, totally ruthless to the enemy.

Yea I completely agree with you on Craig as bond. At least part of his success has to be due to the writing though. the Pierce Brosnan films got progressively campier as they went on, to the point of being a farce. I think Brosnan was ok but suffered due to the style of the movies. Of course, I guess you could say that they were all pretty campy, especially post-connery.. the Moore movies were pretty much all like that.

I thought Brosnan was really good. He suffered from campy scripts, like Odoggy said, but I thought he had a lot of charisma and even played the "angry Bond" well, not as well as Craig but still pretty good. Still, Brosnan was my first Bond and everybody thinks their first Bond actor is the best, unless Timothy Dalton was your first Bond (zing).

Roger Moore was also a pretty charismatic and likable Bond, but let's face it, he had some pretty terrible scripts as well, but played it off pretty well.

I like the Daniel Craig films. I think it's a good Bond for the modern age. It's been influenced a bit by Jack Bauer from 24 and Jason Bourne from the Bourne movies and I think that rugged, visceral stuff is good with all the tough fist-fights and whatnot. Some of those older Bond movies, he knocks a guy out with one right fist. In these movies, Bond is beating dudes' faces into urinals and smashing them into mirrors and crap and I think it really works.

Quantum of Solace was easily the worst Bond movie ever made, even worse than Die Another Day which I didn't think could be possible. I was actually laughing out loud in the theater at QOS it was so stupid. Consequently I have low hopes for this new one, but at least they are making another one.

Speaking of Bond movies, I'll always have a place in my heart for them. I once took a woman to Goldeneye on a blind date. We just celebrated our 13th anniversary May 1.

Jeez, Bill. Does your wife know you've had a mistress that long?

Yeah, she's fine with the mistress. I had to lay off the mistress recently though. Bad economy and all that. I made sure to let her know she was still job attached though.

I don't even know how you could possibly say that. Car chases on a frozen lake? ninja woman knife fight on a cargo airplane outfitted like a mansion ("oh no, I think I broke her heart"), conflict diamonds and a giant space laser? god, the one liners were AWFUL. its not even close.. QOS wasn't good, but its not even on the same level of bad as Die Another Day... That movie was on "A view to a Kill" level campy

Sorry, I still say QOS was the worst (ok, by a hair more than Die Another Day) Bond movie. I mean I can usually find good things to say about almost any movie, but QOS I just found hilariously awful. It was the first time I ever walked out of a Bond movie anticipating the next one.

^^^ I remember seeing that at the movies. Why they chose an AMC of all the cars available is beyond me.

AMC was a sponser of the movie, AFAIK. Many of the cars in that film were AMC, like the Matador that Scaramanga flies off in. And the Hornet( and Gremlin) came with a 360c.i. engine producing about 250 or more hp back then, depending on model year. My '70 Javelin had a 360, 290hp and 395ft. lbs. of torque. The 390 c.i. had 325 horse and 425 ft lbs. torque. The guy who designed that stunt lives in my neck o' the woods, in Hamburg, N.Y.
