Shut up, Scoot! AMCs were awesome! Made in Wisconsin! Classic American cars. The Javelin, the AMX. My old man has a AMC Rebel Machine, one of only a few thousand made (benefits of living so close to the plant where they made them). The Rebel Machine is freaking sweet, like a factory made dragster. VRRRRRRRRRRRRRMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

AMC was cool. I wish they were still around.

Other than the AMX that's what I remember from AMC.. other than sh*tty Harley's and bowling equipment. My buddy in HS had a moon mobile (pacer).. you had to lean forward to go up hills.

I hate Harleys too, despite being from Milwaukee, but what does Harley-Davidson have to do with AMC?

Man, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree on that one... I still think A View to A Kill, Die Another Day, both Timothy Dalton movies, Never Say Never Again (does that even count?!), and arguably a few of the other late Roger Moore movies are absolutely much worse than QOS. I'd give a solid lower middle grade when compared to the spectrum of all the other bond movies.

If I had to rank them (granted, some of these I haven't seen in a while)

    1 - Casino Royale (Craig)
    2 - GoldenEye (Brosnan)
3 - From Russia With Love (Connery)
4 - Tomorrow Never Dies (Brosnan)
5 - The Spy Who Loves Me (Moore)
    6 - Octopussy (Moore)
7 - The World Is Not Enough (Brosnan)
8 - Moonraker (Moore) - corny, but fun
9 - Quantum of Solace (Craig)
10 - For Your Eyes Only (Moore)
    11 - Goldfinger (Connery)
12 - The Man with the Golden Gun (Moore)
    13 - Dr. No (Connery)
14 - Die Another Day (Brosnan)
15 - Licence to Kill (Dalton)
    16 - A View to a Kill (Moore)
17 - The Living Daylights (Dalton)
18 - Live and Let Die (Moore)
19 - Diamonds Are Forever (Connery)
20 - You Only Live Twice (Connery)
    21 - Thunderball (Connery)
22 - On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Lazenby) - who is this boring and what did they do with Sean Connery

Disqualified - Never Say Never Again (Connery) - nice try, thanks for playing

But but but, A View to a Kill had Christopher Walken and Grace Jones! Lol, I'm definitely not disagreeing with you that it was not a campy Bond film, but I still liked it better than QOS, and I didn't like it. It's like I said though, I can usually find some redeeming factor about any Bond film, but QOS I just plain hated. I hated the story, I hated the ridiculously over the top action sequences, and well, I just hated it ok! The ONLY thing I liked about it was Daniel Craig. I think he's my favorite Bond after Connery. Some people say he's too cold, but imo that makes him the most believable spy. I just don't imagine a spy with Roger Moore's personality lasting too long.

Yeah, that's why I like Craig too. The Bond character has definitely been influenced by the likes of Jack Bauer from 24 and Jason Bourne from the Bourne movies. Which I think is a good thing.

Gizmodo or somewhere had some quotes from the original Ian Flemming books where Bond was described as a "dull blunt instrument". Sort of a ruthless character.

And who do you want defending your country? A bad-ass like Craig or some joker like Moore who's running around, sleeping with women on the taxpayer's dime!

Lol, I always thought it was sort of funny how Bond was always sleeping around with just about every woman he came across, especially the Roger Moore Bond. Yet at the same time all the villains could never get their hands on him. Sheesh guys, just hire some hottie, have her sit at the hotel bar Bond is staying at, and when he inevitably picks her up and takes her up to his room for some shagging, have her leave the door unlocked!

I think I'd agree more or less with that, with only a few major (more than 2-ish places) changes. I'd definitely put goldfinger, Dr. No, and Man with the Golden Gun further up, tomorrow never dies further down and Die Another Day/ A View to a Kill fighting it out in the basement (though OHMSS does deserve consideration as well for Lazenby)

My favorite Roger Moore film is For Your Eyes Only, he had a little bit of a darker side to him in that than the others, and the Bond Girl was SMOKIN'!!!!

I haven't watched any of the old Bond movies in a long time. I think it's time to go through them again.

Re: James Bond is back in SKYFALL

The best Bond films I find are usually the first ones with a new actor. I like Live & Let Die, The Living Daylights, Goldeneye and Casino Royale, which were all new outings.

The only exception to that is Goldfinger, which was Connery's 3rd.
