    Card upgrade?

I currently have a Gigabyte 6870 OC card. It's been working okay.

However, I'm tempted to look at upgrading to a 7xxx series card.

What do you think would be better?
A pair of 7770's in X-Fire or a 7850? I know the 7770's will have more raw power, but is it worth the potential problems with X-Fire setup, etc?

    Thanks

This for system specs signature computer? To attempt to answer l'question without much argument. Maybe, depends on experience of using something and thought about it.

I don't think either choice will give you much of a gpu "upgrade." The HD7850 if you massively OC it will equal the performance of a Geforce GTX 570/ 580. But at stock speed its only a tad faster then a HD6870.

    Thanks for the feedback.

There are actually a few different reasons why I was looking at this...
    1. The 6870 card is 11.2" long and doesn't really fit that well into the case that I have.
    2. I would think that either of the 7xxx choices would also consume less power than the 6870 card.

Maybe I'll just save my pennies longer and go with a GTX 670 in the future.

The 6870 was slightly slower than the HD 5870. The GTX 580 was a pretty big step up from the both the 6870 and 5870, and still quite a bit faster than the 6970. I think in my latest review of the XFX 7850, it was nipping right at the heels of the GTX 580. It probably is around the same speed as a GTX 570. But when you consider potential overclocking and the 2 GB frame buffer... I think it is a nice upgrade from a 6870.

Unless you overclock that 7850 its not a big upgrade. More vram is a plus though.
