OCZ Vertex 3 120GB WOW!

I just got my first SSD it a OCZ Vertex 3 120GB and all I can say is WOW

I have to thank Allyn Malventano for all the great work he does about SSD help me out when I did not have any idea what to look for.

I would have love to have got any a Intel one or a Samsung it I did not have that cash for one of them but I found OCZ Vertex 3 120GB for $139 and go it

was so happy with install time of USB2 sick with windows 7 11mins 36sec was the best install time ever, and I love the time windows it take to load windows no 40sec for power up to login It use to take me any were from 1 to 3 mins for windows to load.


I know I have to turn off file indexing in windows 7 for the is there SSD which I have done is there any thing more I need to do as told by a mate of my that I need to get SSD Tweaker do I real need it?

I know a lot of people are scared of OCZ SSD's and the Sandforce controller in general as there have been a lot of issues in the past. I for one LOVE mine though, and it's the cheapest out of all the OCZ's, they don't even make it anymore. The Solid 3. I bought it because it was the first 120gb SATA 3 SSD I could find for under $120.

I bought one last week for $70 after MIR. My agility 2 cost $240 for 120GB! I'm torn because I'd like to take advantage of the extra speed but I don't feel like reformatting and installing win7 on the new drive. I think i'll just be using the Vertex 3 for my frequently played games until I feel like reformatting, then I'll swap

Prices are dropping that's for sure. My first SSD was a 60GB Kinfgston SSDNow SNV-S2 for something like ~$110 and that was a good price back then.

My last couple of SSD were an OCZ Vertex Plus 240GB for $150 and. Crucial 256GB M4 for ~$189. The 480GB to 512GB range is starting to look affordable now though in the ~$350+ range,....
