Question How do you know if you have a graphics driver problem?

    Hello
    This is the problem.
Every once or twice a day this laptop that i am working on with bug up.
    This is what i see.
It half frozen, I can move the mouse but need to be patient It is like having 4 frames per second.
The screen goes black, Then screen will only show task bar everything else is black, Then everything shows, Then everything but the taskbar, Then the back to black again.
It is hard to restart it normally but not impossible just takes you 40 minutes to do it.
Once you restart everything is normal again.
Usually happens when on the internet, using chrome or Firefox, exactly the same thing happens. Or not on the internet but with MS word open etc

I was thinking it was a driver problem of the gpu?

Maybe something wrong with the display or it errors out and gives back error description of graphics driver.

Can load in safe mode. It bypasses graphics drivers. Could uninstall graphics drivers there.

Long load time, I think maybe the hard drive is bad. I've seen this before in other hard drives. Can replace it.

If the display is still bad in safe mode, I suspect hardware fault in graphics processing and can replace whatever hardware does that.

Maybe the lappy's got some severe spyware/virus that I don't see much, can scan the thing with a remover though I don't know what's there yet.

Maybe Google reballing graphic chips, or youtube and see if
the symptoms are the same. The older laptop used BGA
chips, not sure if newer ones do or not.
