Looks interesting, it reminds me of Shining Force. Map for moves and zoom down and more detail when doing something like combat. I like that a lot.
This game will be EPIC
I loved the first XCOM, as everybody did. I was nervous this game wouldn't be anything like the first strategy game, but I've seen a lot of developer interviews over the past few months (they've been doing the media circuit at both PAX and PAX East) and it really sounds like they're trying to create something that honors the original with some modern touches but is still a strategy game.
It's worth noting that the XCOM game coming out this year is the strategy game, not the first person shooter which was announced and then disappeared.
I've pre-ordered it. Pretty excited. But, very busy this week, so probably won't get a chance to play it.
Since I finished Dishonored, I've been playing some of this and boy, is it good!
I haven't had any of the terrible bugs that I see everybody else having (knock on wood). So far, really fun strategy game and a cool modern take on old ass X-COM.
Anybody up for some XCOM multiplayer?
I'm starting to encounter a few bugs. Nothing game breaking yet.
I've got to give up on this for now.
The bugs got worse as I went on. Trying to storm a LARGE crashed UFO and it's really screwing up. Going to take a break until they issue a few more patches.
Played the original 16 years ago, when I was 15.
Loved it. If anyone has played Blue Byte's original Settlers, the first edition was just so much fun IF you enjoyed Micro Management. Same here. You can just focus on the Strategy and the interactions are so fluid. They've made the game less serious and gory as well, which I don't really mind. I can always play Soldiers of Fortune II or Doom 3 if I want to see blood and be scared.
They've made this game fun, pretty (love eye candy) and I'm amazed how well load times are hidden.
LOVE IT! Better than some of those "casual games" that people play on their phones.
Paid full price and gifted Civ 5 to a FB friend.
THUMBS UP
Q9300 with 4 GB DDR2 1066 RAM
UltraSharp 2408WFP (needs to be RMA'ed) on GeForce GTX 285 on two 18 amp 12V lines
Audigy X-Fi Fatal1ty w/ Logitech Z-5500 & Sennheiser HD 280 Pro and HD 595
plus the usual stuff in a poorly designed Antec P180 PW case
Did they patch the bugs out of this game yet? The stuff with the multi-levels and the camera during certain missions?
