    Question GTX 550Ti to monitor stops receiving video

    what could cause GTX 550Ti to monitor stops receiving video, it can recover every 3 to 4 clicks on the monitor to hold signal could there be a bad capacitor and it needs at least minute to minutes to be able to hold a video signal but works fine straight on a regular vga line but not threw dvi to vga adaptor dongle now unlike a year ago could we try just a dvi cable and see if that works or update drivers..
