    MSI Board no video signal

Im trying to help my son here , today he got his new board MSI don't really know what board yet . An Intel I5 cpu he's using an AMD 6950 graphics card but the board won't post - no video . I've been searching the internet for answers got one , he put a new cpu heatsink and fan on it . What I read so far is that one of the mounting screws for the hs and fan might be shorting out the board ? my son's very good with computers he's been threw the bios and repeatedly set and reset the bios he can get video threw the onboard video . The card still works he put it in another pc and it posted with no problems . does anyone have any idea's ?

Check and make sure the card is seated completely and that the PCI power connections and the video cable are seated completely, also check and make sure that the monitor is set on the proper source ie HDMI, DVI Etc.
Since the card works in another computer then it has to be a poor connection or a missed setting in the bios.
Have you tried the video card from the other computer in the new one yet? You need to do this to eliminate the new MB from being the problem.

if there is a short, generally it's an extra case/motherboard standoff. have him pull the board and check to see if all of them are lined up with the mounting holes on the board.

This is the board an MSI Z77A -G43 . I've talked to him on the phone for a few hours trying to figuire it out . Right now he's very disheartened with his purchase . He worried about an RMA how long it'll take to get another board if thats the case from newegg .
