Too "bright". Tone it down a few shades. And why do I have to click on "Go Advanced" to see a preview? Not ready for Prime Time as it stands now.

    Suggestion:

The drop-down menu for the quick-navigation bar is much more difficult to use than the old one. All the text is too big with too much dead space between options. I suggest tightening it all up if possible.

EDIT: another suggestion to go along with this: maybe implement a "go" button next to the drop-down menu like the old one. I often used that button as a way to go back to the parent forum when done with a thread without having to go back to the top of the page

that was a mod installed on the previous version. ill check for an updated mod for this version of vb. if there isnt one...i should be able to reverse code it and figure it out. going to take some time. most of the mods we used on the previous version of vb dont work on this one anymore and updates will have to be found.

    Well.
I'm sure you had your reasons for the change.
    But in all honesty.
    I don't like it.
    The bright white.
The extra real estate to the left/right.
    Hurts my eyes.
Maybe in the future a choice of styles like we had with the old version.

I will never understand how so many people can be more attached to my site's previous designs than me.

We love our readers though and will do what we can to help improve things but I won't set goals we aren't going to try to hit - don't expect a reversion to the old days any more guys (and any gals)!

I will glad solicit other suggestions to make the forum and experience more interesting though in separate threads in this subforum.

When I saw the new scheme it was quite a fright.
I thought to myself "this web address..is it right?"
    Everything just seems too bright!

Maybe a bit harsh and a little exaggerated, but at least it rhymes!

Not going through to read all the replies (hope not everyone has the same feedback) but I agree it's a bit hard to read. Small print. Feel like I'm reading another EULA (I never, ever do that - I come here for summaries...).

Could there be an option to allow people to set their letter size? I'm not blind but I like words to be BIG and LONG.

Otherwise I think it's cleaner and easier to navigate. Colors are a bit drab but it does look more "professional". I'm 31 but still feel like I'm almost 13. I like FUN crayon colors but I don't think that's where a respectable site like this wants to go towards...

    My 2 cents...

    Q9300 with 4 GB DDR2 1066 RAM
UltraSharp 2408WFP (needs to be RMA'ed) on GeForce GTX 285 on two 18 amp 12V lines
    Audigy X-Fi Fatal1ty w/ Logitech Z-5500 & Sennheiser HD 280 Pro and HD 595
plus the usual stuff in a poorly designed Antec P180 PW case

I really don't like the new format, the reason being, with old eyes or need of glasses to see the screen, it is very difficult to see the Green that signifies new posts in a thread.

Seriously, that's not going to keep much interest here for a lot of us...life is busy enough without the need to learn a completely new layout.

    Some have more pressing issues...later.

PS...new layout is still and will always be

Any chance of implementing the AMDMB color scheme?
