IMO one of the problems with going with AMD is they need a new chipset for their FX line of CPUs . The curent selection of boards are realy lacking . Asrock is the latest release of high end 990fx but still it is the same old chipset . FM2 boards make me scratch my head why would any one want one for a high end desktop .

990FX is fine for current FX. Like I said, wait for steamroller.

Ah, I need to catch myself back up. I'm planning to upgrade from my Pentium E 2160 rig, and while Haswell is tempting, I'm leaning toward AMD because of cost. An FX chip and 990FX board will offer me a nice base when I get around to the upgrade next year. Actually, I'm pretty sure I'd still be running my DFI NF4 Ultra-D if it weren't for that Enermax PSU dying and taking the mobo with it.
