I have 2 MSI R6950 vid cards that I would like to crossfire. First time I've crossfired...
Other hardware that will be in the system
CPU: Stock Intel i7-3770K, retail. stock cooling.
Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2133 (PC3 17000) Desktop Memory Model F3-2133C9Q-32GXH
HD: I have a variety of gen 3 and 4 SSD's including OCZ PCIe revo drives to choose from, but this isn't what I've posted about.
All the boards I've looked at that are compatable with the 3770K are either PCI Express 3.0 x16 or PCI Express 2.0 x16
But the pipelines are x16/x8 or x8/x8, or x16/x0
But no x16/x16
In order of MB mfg's I perfer: ASRock (Had good luck with various mb's in the Extreme series)
Gigabytes have always been solid MB's for me
MSI's have also always been solid for me, but I've heard their quality has slipped
Man, I miss Abit
Asus: I had a bad experience with an Asus. It was a transitional board. Had both IDE and SATA. And when trying to unplug anything on the board, the connector would pull off the board. Bad solder job, lots of cold solder joints? Haven't bought an Asus since.
Anyway any MB suggestions? Willing to reculently go to the mid 300's
Looking mostly for stability and long life
Not really going to OC.
TIA
Trik
