So, I guess we'll still be able to build PCs, but the chips will already be on the MBs? But no overclocking and stuff like that, correct? This makes my build in a year or two interesting.

Not this again. The killing off desktop FUD always was ridiculous. Just makes the accuser look bad though should not make themselves that way.

We talked about this in Jan 2012 (now it's Nov 2012)... Smiled at the URL "semi accurate .com" (half truth sort of thing)

SemiAccurate is known for inventing stories. Ryan or somebody else from the PCPER crew can back me up on this. Once in a blue moon, they have an accurate leak from inside sources. Usually they're wildly inaccurate. NVIDIA's PR team actively has a fatwa out against them. I believe they were delisted from Google News as well.

I would take anything they publish with a mountain of salt.

They're better as they are, LGA, even the slot CPU's are a better idea than BGA on desktop.

Desktop sales are few than laptops. Laptops sales as of BF 2012 is now fewer than tablets. As more apps and tools get to the tablets, the desktop will really fade away.

My dad's company is nearly all laptops now. It's a global company too. They even have the tablets doing business functions now with laptops running the manufacturing floor. It is odd not seeing a desktop over there.
