Modding PowerSupplies - cutting off superfluous connectors

Need to replace the Power supply in my HTPC

Would like to get one with modular connectors to relieve the cable mess inside the box and improve airflow / maintainability
But having trouble finding one small enough to fit in my Silverstone HTPC box that includes modular connectors

Does anyone see any problems with just snipping off the superfluous connectors off a powersupply? I''ll protect the cut ends with some heat shrink tubing.

aside from basic Mother board power connections - just need two SATA Power cables for this box.

    thanks

As long as all of your ends are safely sealed after cutting them you won't have any problems.
