Dead video card pt 2 - replacing thermal pads

    A continuation from here: http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.p...-at-2D-desktop

I have an MSI GTX 480 that's exhibiting issues with its memory. Apparently the seller I got it from did the 'oven trick' on it. Fortunately for me I attend a university as an electrical engineering/computer science double major with awesome TAs and have had the graphics card tended to at a reworking station.

Now I need to recompound the thing and test it..after finding new thermal pads. The thermal pads are trashed - they're too dirty for me to trust them on a card that's had issues with its memory/memory controller. I don't know what thickness nor brand I need to buy nor even the source to get thermal pads.

Where can I get some? I miss my SLI!

Pads? Do you intend to take this thing apart again? If not, I'd go for thermal epoxy.

If it's working for a bit and dies again with the same error, I'll need to reflow it again. This card's gotta last me until Summer.
