Thumbs up Saturday Feb 22 10am ET - Virtual LAN party #5

It's time for the PCPer virtual LAN party #5

It's going to be the same basic format as our last virtual LAN party (over 2 years ago). The date is Feb 22 from 10 AM to 2 AM (eastern time)

Btw, you can view a list of past Fragging Frog events and other gaming info in our Gaming Sticky Mega Thread. Be sure to check it out.

This is a summary of the format. Of course we are open to suggestions for change.

    1. We normally choose a few games that there is a common interest in playing starting with our favorites like Battlefield 4 then adding additional games. Fragging Frog classics like UT2004, Left 4 Dead 2 & Alien Swarm are always solid alternatives if we need a change. Post your game suggestions to this thread.

    2. Set a Saturday date for the event. We will try to select a date that works for most people. Please discuss dates in this thread. On the day we select the event will run from 10 AM ET to whenever (usually 1-2 AM ET).

    3. I'll keep this first post updated with all important information. See below for starters.

PLEASE NOTE: There will be NO set start/end times for particular games. All that will be decided in real time over TEAMSPEAK. So you are STRONGLY ENCOURAGED to join TeamSpeak for this event even if you have never joined in the past. Although we attempt to update this thread with the current game being played it doesn't always happen so if you are not on TeamSpeak you may get lost and lose track of what's going on. The TeamSpeak server info is listed further down in this post.

Please post if you plan to attend this event. I will maintain a list of players who plan to attend the event.

I'm in (both days should work for me - marking my calendar now)...

Something tells me I'll be playing BF4 99% of the day

About other games, can we add WoWP?
    And yes to racing!

I'm going to share this thread with a few friends tomorrow. Hope it's okay.

Re: Date TBD - Virtual LAN party #5

I updated the first post with attendees and games. I added Torchlight II for those that like RPGs.

So far it seems like Feb 22 might be the better choice as mmettin and possibly amd5150 have conflicts on March 1 but lets wait a couple more days to hear from others.

Unfortunately the only Saturday Buu will be home is March 28 over his Spring Break but that's too far out.

I will be displaced from my normal gaming environment on Feb 22 because I'm having my office remodeled the week prior and probably won't be moved back in yet. So I will be playing from Buu's room That's not a problem at all and doesn't influence the date choice for me. I just thought I'd mention it.

    Need to add BF:BC2

The 2/22 dates will suit me just fine.

    And also add Borderlands 2.

    Are there still BC2 servers?

    Absolutely nothing

Not entirely un-serious actually. I still have the disks sitting out somewhere surprisingly accessible considering how long its been since I played

    Hello everyone!

Warsam71 brought me to this thread of awesomeness so I wanted to show my support and share my excitement! A couple questions.
Are there any restrictions on who can join the event? Will this event be broadcast live anywhere for people to watch who can't participate? Nonetheless I'm excited and can't wait for this to happen, Game On!

At the risk of speaking out of turn, I'll say that we have never placed limitations on who can take part. It has traditionally been FF members, but since we are not a "clan" we are not exclusive. We always welcome fresh faces (and fresh meat!). Given the somewhat ad-hoc nature of the event (since we basically choose games based on consensus over VOIP) I'm not sure it lends itself to a broadcast, but we've never explored that idea before. Feel free to spread the word, give your $0.02 on a date and add to the list of games.

Thank you for the reply O-Dog! Have y'all considered that game "Loadout"? Seems like it could be a blast.
I'll most definitely be passing this event onto my other social media outlets!
