Re: NVIDIA vs. AMD newer cards

i too completed a core 15 all the 17s were a bust. as for an answer to the 5770 issue would need to be asked at the fah forum.

got a thread for the 750ti started at fah.

Re: NVIDIA vs. AMD newer cards

Decided to rip the 5770 out and reinstall the 8800. I removed the client-type advanced setting, but the 750 Ti is still trying to download Core 17 units. Is there a way to force Core 15 until they fix Core 17?

Re: NVIDIA vs. AMD newer cards

i was thinking the 8800 might be the best bet. if all my recollections are correct the 8800gts was equal to my 9800gt and was good for a solid 6k+.

from what can see there have been some problems with the 5000 series.

i think i saw something about forcing 15 cores but have not yet found it. i don't think it was positive.

v6 limit will get you just core 15s.

Yea, this is the only workaround I can see at this time. Doesn't seem like there is a flag you can set in the v7 client to force specific cores, but if you use the older client you simply won't receive core 17 units. I always had good success using GPU tracker (check sticky) for running my v6 clients

i wonder how long it's going to take for them to remedy this. they have yet to speculate on what the glitch may be. other than all of the above.

Gonna try the new 335.23 drivers; maybe they suck less at folding than the 334's.

Replaced the 8800GTS with a 650 TI so I'm not losing production while they fix Core 17 for Maxwell.

So today the 750 is crunching on a Core 15 just fine, but the 650 is choking on a Core 17. Yay!

and a core 16 would wipe the grin off the amd solution.

True, but I rarely find myself pulling down Core 16 units on my 7970's

    1) core17 update: we've come up with a workaround for core17 so it runs on Maxwell. It won't run as fast as it could (due to the driver issue), but it will at least run. It would run at full speed on non-Maxwell. We're pushing to get that new core17 out.

    2) AS update: If we can't resolve the AS issues, we're thinking of reverting back to giving Core17 to everyone, including Maxwell GPUs, even before we get Core17 out, since this is a major issue for non-Maxwell donors.

I'm sorry we don't have better news at the moment, but this is where we are right now. We are actively pushing on both the core update and AS update fronts to fix this.
