Question Looking for Gaming Headphones ~$50 USD, Paired with ModMic

    Budget - around $50 USD
Source - PC, attached to motherboard; "Realtek ALC1150 115dB SNR HD Audio" "built-in amplifier which is able to drive 600Ω loads"
Requirements for Isolation - Preferably open; closed if absolutely necessary.
Preferred type - Over the ear; on the ear if absolutely necessary, not willing to use much of anything else. They must be comfortable as I will be wearing them for many hours at a time.
Preferred tonal balance - Decently balanced; Main usage will be for gaming.
Past Headphones - Sennheiser HD 150s or 151s; they were overall decent, but the cord broke over time.
Preferred Music - Don't really listen to any, besides gaming music
    Location - US

I'm looking for some gaming headphones; around $50 USD is my budget. I'm thinking I would prefer open. I plan on getting a ModMic. I think I would also prefer over the ear headphones if possible. A detachable cord would be greatly appreciated.

So far I've looked at these:
Superlux HD 668B (can't keep them in stock or at a decent price)
Sennheiser HD 439 (Really concerned about build quality)
Status HD One (On the ear, instead of over the ear)

Spend $25 more and get these:

    Sennheiser Black HD 280 PRO

Excellent headphones at an excellent price.
I have been using Sennheiser phones for a lot of years. I don't even remember how long I have had my Senn's and both pairs are still going strong.

Those look good, but they're closed. I've been hearing from a lot of people that open is much better for gaming.

I've tried a number of headphones in the past and I have found open backs are excellent for FPS gaming. I pick up on so many directional audio cues because open back headphones have a greater sound stage.

Also, I'm currently using the Sennheiser 598 with the ModMic. In terms of build quality Sennheiser is an excellent choice.
