Skylake i7 6700k: Which Board Is Better

I'm getting ready to upgrade my current system with an i7 6700k and am having some trouble which motherboard would be best. Which would you recommend from the two choices below.

    Asrock Z170 Extreme6+

    Gigabyte GA-Z170X-UD5 (Rev. 1.0)

Thanks in advance for your help.

I like the layout of the Gigabyte board better and I also like that fact that there's no I/O shroud to collect dust. ASrock has come a long ways since the early days but I would prefer Gigabyte's known quality myself.

Why those two and not an ASUS? Just curious as I've only had ASUS and never had issues with them.

The Gigabyte UD5 is a nice board with 2x M.2 and 2x Intel LAN. I only wish we have this board in EU then I would have gone for that instead of the Asus Maximus VIII Hero.

There is also the UD5-TH which is available in EU and replaces the 2nd M.2 and LAN with two thunderbolt 3 ports. Personally I wouldn't bother with TH because there are only a handful of devices using it and they are expensive.

    Marmo:
    Ci5 4690K + Gigabyte GA-Z97X-UD5H + 2x8GB Corsair 1600 C9 + Palit GTX980 SJ + 256GB(SSD)/1TB(HDD) running Win7 Pro x64.

    Kanon (wife's PC):
    Ci5 6600K + Gigabyte GA-Z270X-Gaming 5 + 2x8GB Corsair 2666 C16 + MSI GTX1080 G+X 11Gbps + 256GB(SSD)/1TB(HDD) running Win8.1 Pro x64.

    Alania:
    Dell Vostro 3460: Ci7 3632QM + HM77 + 6GB DDR3-1600 + Nvidia GT630M + 480GB SSD running Win7 Pro x64.

    Moss (Windows Hyper-V RemoteFX server):
    Ci5 6600K + Asus Maximum VIII HERO + 2x8GB Corsair 2666 C16 + MSI GTX660 TF + 2x2TB (RAID1) HDDs running Win2012 R2 Std. x64.

    Flame (Linux server / F@H):
    PIIX4 925 + ASRock 890FX Deluxe5 + 2x4GB Corsair 1833 C9 + Sapphire HD5750 1GB + 2x250GB(System RAID1)/3x500GB(3ware 9650SE-4LPML RAID5) HDDs running CentOS 6.7 x64.

    Valis:
    C2Q Q9650 + Asus P5Q3 Dlx. + 2x4GB Corsair 1600 C8 + EVGA GTX560 Ti SC + 2x74GB/500GB HDDs running Fedora 21 x64.

I've had some problems with Asus boards in the past, so I tend to stay away from Asus. I've had good luck with the Asrock boards on my last three builds, so I went with the Extreme6+.

How peculiar… I've had the least amount of problems when dealing with Asus boards and I've built/repaired thousands of PCs over the last 15 years.

Asus Z170-A is the consumer mid range z170 board. It also has multiple tiers, there is the standard board and Deluxe. Price is decent and even the base model comes with lots of overclock potential the difference between them is more bells and whistles not so much core functionality or overclock headroom.

i'd give other suggestions but I build all my systems on Asus motherboards.
