970A-G46 Update or Kill system for new VM Intel unit.

Hello i'm looking at should I toss my 970A-G46 in the trash or update until death.

I play 0 Games with this board, But I love my NAS located in another room with VM
Im held back with only the 4 core /// Note this is a dual core chip black - overclocked to 4 core.

Should I update the CPU or go INTEL --- By the way Im cheap but a new CPU is over $100 for this board if it holds up.

    Running a 970A-G46 order 6/1/12 4 years old.
