OC problems. CPU-Z disagrees with bios settings

This thread started off as "what improvements can I make to play BF1". Its in the Tech Talk forum
    http://forums.pcper.com/showthread.p...375#pst4581375

But now the problem is more to do with oc. I wanted to oc slightly so I changed the multi from 33 to 37, but cpu-z still reports the multi as 33 and the speed as 3300. There is a section in the bios that shows the multi and speed differently whether or not you're in turbo or non-turbo. in Turbgo its 37 and 3700. in non-turbo its 33 and 3300

what am i doing wrong? I definitely hit F10 and saved.

If you still have "speed step" (or whatever intel is call it these days) enabled, at light loads the processor will downclock to stock multiplier

If you want to force the higher clock speed you have to turn all of the power saving stuff off in the bios, and in windows set your pc to "max performance" mode.

OK, i'm pretty sure I disabled the speed step you mentioned but nothing changed. Today I decided to install the overclocking utility EasyTune 6 that was on the disc that came with the mobo. The "tuner" tab gives you 3 choices for oc. No. 1 is 3.6G, No. 2 is 3.8 and No. 3 is 4.1 They are all a 100 MHz. it also shows a default of 3.4G The thing is, when I click on the cpu tab, it is showing 3700 MHz and a multi of 37 Those are the settings that i have in bios, but CPU-Z is still showing 3300 and the multi of 33

Now I really don't know what going on.
