#81 on the team stats so far. should hit #50 by the end of the month!
Way to go!!!
I passed BC today, that's just unreal for me remembering his shelf of power back in the day where he had a dozen or more rigs folding with no cases, just set in a shelving system. Wish i could find the pic of it ...
Thus Always To Tyrants
I have been down for a few weeks now .... dealing with random instability issues that caused a lot of confusion for a few weeks and utter frustration for a week before figuring out what was going on.
Apparently the HP Z620 (my base system) has a long history of power control issues to the 2nd CPU riser card. Most systems, when failure occurs, cook the board near the power input .... mine however cooked the power plug itself.
Apparently when you fry the input power plug to the 2nd CPU the system will completely lock on boot and do nothing ... no post, no BIOS, no error ...... just go full thermal overload, fans screaming, and sit with blank screens for days and days.
So now that i have finally found the problem i can begin to fix it. I will be out for a while longer but i will return!
Welcome back! Hopefully you get your issues figured out! Should have a WU done myself in the next day!
I have the problem figured out .... its just finding the $$ to solve the problem. the Quadro 400 isnt much for folding so the heat and cost to run it, without dual CPUs, is not there.
I will get the second CPU back up and running on this dual (currently single) CPU rig this year ... and upgrade the GPU for better CAD work .... hopefully two Quadro K4000s linked up.
i might even add in a GTX or smaller GPU dedicated to folding 24/7 on this rig.
