I bought the Low End system from the Hardware Leaderboard...memory running slow..

    Hey Guys;

I grabbed all the parts off the Hardware Leaderboard for the low end system and everything is running fine it's just that the Patriot memory was detected at 2133MHZ and when I entered the BIOS it was running at 1.20v. I made some changes..1.35v..changed timings to 16 16 16 36 and changed it to 3200Mhz and of course it wouldn't post. I also tried 16 18 18 36 as per a reviewer on the New Egg site claiming the RAM won't run 16 16 16 36. There are lot of settings related to RAM on that Asus board. Do you guys have any guides that I can follow to properly overclock my RAM to the 3200MHZ settings? I contacted Patriot and they think my mobo won't run at the 3200Mhz speed.

I don't think the Patriot people are correct since the Asus site says it will run at the 3200Mhz speed with a Ryzen:

    AMD Ryzen™ Processors
    2 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR4 3200(O.C.)/2933(O.C.)/2666/2400/2133 MHz ECC and non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
    AMD 7th Generation A-series/Athlon™ Processors
    2 x DIMM, Max. 32GB, DDR4 2400/2133 MHz Non-ECC, Un-buffered Memory
    Dual Channel Memory Architecture

    My Parts list:

Asus Prime A320M-CR2.0 updated to Bios 806
AMD Ryzen 1300X with factory Wraith cooler
    Seasonic 430w PSU
    Samsung 850 EVO 250GB SSD Sata6
    Asus DvD/CD burner
    Patriot PV48G320C6K 8GB RAM kit 3200MHZ 16 16 16 36 timings...? Currently running at 2133Mhz 1.20v

    The memory came from here:

    Welcome to the forums.

Have you tried OC-ing the ram with just one stick ?

Does the rig run otherwise without the OC of the Ram ?

I have not tried 1 stick yet...that's a good idea to give that a go if my attempt at overclocking is correct.

The rig is running perfectly so far. Installed Win x64. Ran a couple passes of PCMark with success.

One other odd thing: The Patriot rep got back to me and he pointed out that the owners manual for the main board says it only supports memory to a max speed of 2666Mhz (so that means the Asus website contradicts the owners manual). I wonder if I am barking up the wrong tree here? I just may not achieve the 3200mhz speed this ram supposedly can go if the board does not support that speed? I wonder if the Ryan team had success at 3200mhz?
