New PC build. Deciding whether or not to upgrade GPU

    Hello,

I built a 'new' system. New Mobo, RAM, and CPU. I re-used my PSU and GPU. Everything is running great, but I'm contemplating upgrading my GPU to either a GTX 1080 or even a 1080 ti.

My question is, how much of a difference am I going to see [if any], or is this just future proofing? For context, I work in architecture and use Revit and Lumion. Both of which run great in this setup. I also game....Currently playing Divinity:OS 2, PUBG, Ghost Reson Wildlands, with some interest in trying out Destiny 2. Nothing that I play currently runs under 60fps
My displays are both 24" 1080p with some interest in possibly going 4k someday. Working on a 3rd 1080p display now beccause I want to see how the 'eyefinity' super wide screen looks in games. I just don't know if dropping $600-$800 is worth any gains I might get.

Re: New PC build. Deciding whether or not to upgrade GPU

I'm currently in the same boat. My system runs fine except in one of my games, which is witcher 3 doesn't run at the full 60fps. It runs slightly less than that. My current monitor is a 23" 1090x1080 Asus monitor. That looks great and I have no complaints with it at all. I'm considering either a radeon rx vega 56 or gtx 1070. System specs below:

    CPU: Intel i7 4790k 4.0ghz stock
    Ram: 32GB (4x8) 1866 DDRAM3
PSU: Rosewill Lightning 1000 80 plus gold edition
    GPU: XFX Radeon R9 390x 8gig GDDR5 clocked at 6ghz
    Sound: Creative Soundblaster Z

I use my system mainly as a music workstation. Which it does well. BTW I think you're fine with you setup. There's currently a set price at newegg.com for Amd Radeon Rx Vega 56 8gig HBM 210watts available at $399-$419. Here's the link below: Note current Vegas use two 8 pin power connectors just letting you know ahead of time in case you purchase one.
