    i7-8550U vs i7-7700HQ

    http://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare...20742vsm211019

I am looking at two laptops:

DELL with i7-8550U (and GF 940MX)
    vs
Lenovo with i7-7700HQ (and GF GTX 1050)

Both are 15.6" screen and 512GB SSD.

I am just little confused/wondering why would the (8th Gen) i7-8550U be 1.8GHz while the (7th Gen) i7-7700HQ be 2.8GHz? Both are Quad-core. Isn't "U" mean dual-core? The link above shows both are Kaby Lake, not Skylake? The TDP differs (i7-7700HQ is 45W vs i7-8550U is 15W), is 45W that hot for laptop?

I am thinking the Lenovo is better buy because the HQ and better GPU? This would be, of course, email, internet browsing, and Office, but I will be programming (Visual Studio) too. The Lenovo does not have HDMI (while the DELL does have HDMI), but that's OK.

What are your suggestions? Thank you.

The lenovo for sure the 1050 will wipe the floor with the 940Mx. Also i try to avoid all U classed processors.

Thanks for the replies. I also notice many new laptops are coming out with U models (of course, that's the point). And the Lenovo with HQ is impressive priced. In fact, it's now on sale for $200 off.
