We need a new name

As you can see, this forum doesn't have a proper name yet. So I'm throwing this open for people to suggest things. There's no prize that I'm aware of, except the honour and personal satisfaction of seeing your suggestion use.

We felt that we needed a clean break for TLR, so that name, and any derivative, is out. I have no imagination in these things so the best I've managed to come up with include:

Boxing Club (not Fight Club - that's taken)
The Chamber
The House
The Senate
Gladiator School

As I said no imagination. So over to you folks.

I've never understood why folks on the left try to act as if they're somewhere else. Granted, some of the usual posters who fly with a couple of names are only shown with one of their monikers, but I'm sure you get the point here.

Yeah, if you control the language, you can decide by your own metrics who is and who isn't [insert offending title here]. Thank goodness (see how I didn't say "God" because it may be offensive?) there are millions of innocent words that can be woven into any manner of insult.

Its interesting to see which ones had positions on the graph that were quite different than their posts.

I wonder if we'll ever know if second names' positions would match up with first names' opinions.

In psychology, this is called "transference".

Every genuine left-winger you will ever meet is proud to call themselves Left. OK, not in politics, because that gets punished by the Right-wing press. But on an anonymous forum like this Leftists are perfectly happy with the label. The problem is that Right-wingers simply don't believe that they are Right. And more importantly, they believe that anyone to the left of them must be Left. This is like the port outer engine of a 747 declaring that the port inner engine if left wing, because it's not as Right as it is.

As someone suggested, it might be useful to have a debate elsewhere as to what an actual Socialist is, but wanting to extend free medical care to a greater proportion of society (for example) does not make you Left of Centre. Left of Hayek, maybe, but not of the Centre. It''s called the "Fallacy of the Excluded Middle", aka "If you're not for us, you're against us", and many other names.
