In the case of Communist Red China we’ve been getting screwed for far far to long. Not just money theft of intellectual high tech and top secret defense programs and more... Trump playing hardball with China is absolutely the right thing to do. US companies and corporations such as Apple must leave China... Who the hell wants China’s fentanyl except El Chapo...

Part of the problem is precisely the fact that China is not particularly socialist any more. It's closer to authoritarian capitalism. It means that it can compete directly with more obviously capitalist countries, but still be controlled by the government. From Trump's perspective, the issue is: who will a trade wart hurt more? Pretty much everything you buy on the West was assembled in China. If that manufacturing gets removed from China prices will soar. I mean: really soar. Inflation will be back to 1980s levels at the very least.

China is what is precisely called a socialist market economy run under communism. By definition. Its is not a capitalist system, even if tagged authoritarian. Why the twist of words? It is what it is.
