some forum members (myself included) have found the default ide drivers (i.e. the default windows drivers) better that the ones in the via 4in1. i would recommend NOT installing the via ide drivers.

[B]For the VIA drivers, you can install the IDE and INF's, but not the AGP. The AGP needs the AMD Miniport driver - Miniport Driver
Hello:
I am awaiting my A7M266 from newegg. To confirm, you would recommend installation of:
1. Via 4-in-1 drivers
2. AMD Miniport driver
3. USB Patch (Win98 SE)
Also, do these drivers work (or are necessary) on Win2k? I plan on running Win98SE and Win2k on seperate drives with a removable DataPort drive cartridge system.
Here's what I'd do, others may disagree but I've had good results installing the following, but not on your board.
1. Via 4-in-1 drivers - install all for Win98 (except IDE and AGP on your board) - install all for Win2k(except for AGP on your board.) Others have maintained that the IDE driver is not needed for Win2k on your board. I'd try both ways.
2. AMD Miniport driver - install on both OS's
3. USB Patch (Win98 SE) - Win98 only.
